Root Down Market is looking for our next customer service dynamo!

Root Down Market is a cafe and farm store located in New Sharon, ME. Serving breakfast and lunch, our menu features farm-to-table ingredients including eggs, meat and produce. Our in-house bakery produces baked goods such as biscuits, muffins and more with Maine-grown ingredients. Additionally, our market offers a wide variety of locally produced vegetables and grocery items.

Schedule:

Fridays from 4 pm to 9 pm plus 10 additional front of house hours to occur on Thursdays or Saturdays. We will work with your availability to make a permanent schedule. Fridays are a must.!

Strong possibility for more shifts and options to pick up shifts to cover vacations and time off throughout the summer.

Responsibilities:

Providing exceptional customer service to market customers

Taking orders through our POS system and helping customers with questions and selections of menu items

Receiving payment for cafe and market items through our POS system

Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for opening and closing

Stocking market inventory such as deli items, bakery items, beverages, and grocery items

Routine cleaning of high touch surfaces such as counters, bakery cases, deli cases, etc

Food handling of bakery times

Preparation of coffee at opening and throughout the shift as well as keeping the coffee station stocked and clean

Serving beer & wine in a safe manner in accordance with State of Maine liquor laws

Assist with dining room dishes during peak hours

Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent customer service skills

1 year of experience in a fast paced, customer service oriented position

Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.

Strong organization and active listening skills.

The ability to accept feedback and work collaboratively with owners and other staff members

The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

Pay: $16/hour plus tip share
