If you find yourself among the early risers, the busy bees, the perpetually hungry people searching for delicious food crafted with Maine grown ingredients, then you're not alone. The quest for a breakfast sandwich made with eggs and meat sourced from local farms led us down a path less traveledβstraight to our kitchen. Here, armed with the freshest locally produced ingredients, we set out to make food that would satisfy our hunger and also support our community's food producers.
The result? Root Down Market. Good food with local roots.
We are a couple of farmers and eaters that decided to open our own restaurant & market.
A Franklin County native, Erica plants her local roots in everything she does. In addition to being our baker and morale officer at ROOT DOWN MARKET, she is also the vegetable mastermind at RUSTIC ROOTS FARM in Farmington. She is the reason for the bounty of veggies at our market & cafe during the growing season!
Dave is the guy you know you know from somewhere! Formerly shaking cocktails by night at various watering holes and selling tomatoes by day at the farmers' market, Dave can be found year round at ROOT DOWN MARKET unless heβs pulling double duty at our vegetable farm during the growing season.
